[en] Summer wish challenge
It's summer, school break, some more relaxing, it seems to me like a good time to do some planning for the next 12 months. So here's what I thought of:
[en] Danish branded water
I've noticed something interesting in this country: people like to brand water. Although it seems a little stupid in the beginning, I think it's a good marketing trick. I've seen branded water at banks, at the Student House, at a museum and at my school.
[en] The things I hate about fronter
I keep having problems when I try to use my school's Virtual Learning System based on fronter, so I thought instead of getting pissed off all the time I might just write all my non likes in here. Maybe, a very distant maybe, some fronter developer stumbles upon them and decides they're worthy to take into consideration. So here I go:
- HTML Frames? Come on! Where am I? In the 90s?
- No "Remember my username and password" option? Why? You think I want to waste my fingers inputting my credentials? I have important things to type, like chat.
- Where's the unified search? Ok, I'll live without that. Where's the file search? None?! What do you think I'm doing in my spare time? Indexing my teachers' presentation documents and required reading?
- Can I haz calendar export for my calendar? No? Thank you, I loooove having to remember everything.
- News news news.... where's Google Reader? Shit, your RSS feeds don't work there, actually they don't work anywhere.
- Ok, I had this message from my teacher on the classroom wall, but that was a while ago. Where's the archive? No archive? Great, I'll just have to copy-paste everything all the time and keep my own archive.
- Class cancelled. Where's the warning email? No email.
Ahaaa... I have to go to school to find out or keep logging in all the time. - I forgot the date for the school party. Need to go to the news archive. Which is.... in wonderland. I wonder if Alice is on Facebook, maybe she can help....?!
- Browsing through the file archive .... shit, it's 7 pm already? Thank you fronter for making me wait for you to reload the page every time I click a folder on the explorer tab on the left!
- Java? Why do you require Java? You're not using it for anything? Let's all require things. I require some common sense from someone selling a VLE for $$, I want that VLE to work.
- Social social social... is dead. Fronter, why do you make it hard to socialize with other students in the school? Why can't I browse classes to find the girl from last Friday's party?
- I am having a presentation next week. Fronter can you help me send a message to the common student room? What do you mean you can't? There's no common student room? We shouldn't communicate with people out of our class, why? Fronter, don't you tell me to shut up, how'bout I shut up this Firefox tab. See ya', ain't gonna miss ya'!

Într-adevăr nu am prea avut timp / energie să mai povestesc ce se întâmplă pe aici. Așa că acum o să încerc să mă revanșez față de cei cărora le-am promis niște detalii pe blog.

Am ajuns în Danmarca ieri și primul lucru care m-a uimit a fost numărul mare de biciclete parcate lângă gară. M-a uimit din două motive: în primul rând în Românica nu vezi atâtea biciclete într-un loc decât dacă e vorba de vreo activitate ciclistă și al doilea din cauză că erau atâtea biciclete parcate lângă gară. Eu tot tremur când îmi parchez bicicleta lângă gară în România.
Und zen?
Und zen am avut o primă zi foarte plină de activitate în căutarea unui apartament de închiriat. Am reușit să găsim (plural → eu și Alina) un apartament destul de fain. Evident că dacă totul s-ar fi terminat așa ar fi fost prea fain și aici nu o să găsiți fain, aici o să găsiți viața. Am reușit să plătim apartamentul prea târziu ca să mai putem să ne mutăm în apartament așa că am mers să stau la Mike peste noapte.
Und zen?
Und zen l-am găsit pe Mike și l-am ajutat pe el și pe colegii lui de cămin să redecoreze / reorganizeze / să facă curățenie. Îmi plac colegii lui Mike. Sunt foarte diferiți și par interesanți. Am reușit spre seară să folosesc netul ceva mai mult și să încep să mă gândesc la o parte a joobsbox-ului. Geek stuff aside, am fost și la o plimbare nocturna prin cămin. Îmi place la nebunie felul în care îi gândit și cât îi de curat.

Und zen am dormit că eram rupt de somn după o noapte dormită prost pe tren și o zi plină de alergături prin oraș.
M-am trezit de dimineața plin de entuziasm că o să mă mut în apartamentul meu. M-am despărțit de un Mike somnoros la ușa căminului lor și am pornit-o pe jos să fac drumul până la apartamentul meu. După ceva hârțogăiare am urcat la etajul treeeeeei.

Și apoi nu mai știu cum am plecat la cumpărături și cam asta am făcut toată ziua. Am luat o mulțime de chestii pentru casă: mop, găleata, detergenți, ceva mâncare....

Tocmai am zis ca am petrecut toată ziua pe la cumpărături. Acum seara scriu acest post stând pe jos în sacul de dormit, în camera mea nemobilată furând internet de la vecini prin wireless. Ce mai? Îs român în Danemarca:))

So I left Romania today for at least 4 months. I'm currently in Germany in Dortmund enjoying Starbucks. Here are a few pictures from the journey.

Lucian Savluc shared (through his blog) some details about this year's Eiberatica conference. Probably the best piece of news is the lower attendence price. I hope I'll get to attend Eliberatica this year.Lucian Savluc a împărtășit (prin blogul lui) niște detalii despre conferința Eliberatica de anul acesta. Probabil cea mai bună veste este prețul de participare mai mic. Sper să merg și eu anul acesta la Eliberatica.
