I, too, have found that the security model doesn't match anything I have every come across before. The default is wide open and then you close it off. Duh!

What about transferring files from one year to the next and moving the students data across? Nope, got to ask the administrator to do that.

What about the actual links and buttons? Do they look like links or buttons or just text entry fields? Such a cluttered interface.

Folks, heads up. Fronter.com is not a panacea. It has its use but not other than a means of glorified FTP and document store. I do not have time as a teacher to update each pupil's files on there and then try to locate where someone else may have put things into certain folders/directories or whatever it is that it is being called as this month's hot shot technical term.

Ah, feel better now. Good luck with this..!

As a fellow user of the program I can only agree on above. And add that the forum part is beyond ridicules...
I reckon they went for user hostile rather than user friendly. Once you manage to find it (and not many do) you then discover, that there is no auto-generated author on any of the posts, meaning that you unintentionally post anonymously. I believe to have seen my share of different forums, never have I ever come across anything quite as bad and useless as the part on Fronter. Of course if nobody uses the forum there is no maintenance nor upgrades needed. So if that was the goal, they hit a home run…

I think you need some more training as most of the above can be done, If of course you have sufficient access rights and privileges, which forms part of the security to protect our children.
